A little sketch I did. Planning to then it into a print as I have some new shiny lino ready to go!

The Junior Artist at work
SketchesMore pictures of Clara, tricky to sketch her as she usually grabs my pencil and paper to do her own drawing “Mamma Mine” but I get a few seconds while she is distracted or looking out of the window. I’m getting quicker at sketching anyway and she hadn’t discovered drawing on the walls ……yet.
Classical poses with a broom handle.
SketchesNo big budgets here but you have to say fair play to our model who managed to make do with a broom handle and an upturned bucket. Now that is an art .
More Life Drawing efforts
Art, Drawing, SketchesMy latest efforts from life drawing, enjoyed doing a mix of drawing and blind contour drawing on one . Strangely when I don’t look at the page I seem to get the proportions better. Think I may have to dig out my Anatomy of an Artist book and definitely need more practice on hands, feet, and faces!
Beastly Weather
Art, Illustration, ManchesterI did the ground for this canvas weeks ago and now it looks like outside my window as a man and his dog go on an intrepid journey to the corner shop.
Framed Tree
Art, PrintThere is an open exhibition locally so I got some fancy Fabriano paper and printed a limited edition of my tree print. I have done 25. It’s amazing the difference proper paper and a frame make so here is hoping it gets in!
Above shows a bit of the process, inking up the lino, then I burnish with a roller, Ta Dah the reveal, and finally hanging out to dry!
And she’s off
Drawing, SketchesI think I finally captured something of the toddler whirlwind that is Clara !
Quick Draw
Drawing, SketchesI’m going back to a life drawing class soon and it’s been ages since I did any figure drawing so I thought I’d get some practice in. My current model is small, speedy and very destructive!
Tide of change
Abstract PaintingsGoing through old notebooks and tearing up to do lists. It strikes me that through the years all my lists seem to have ‘pay electricity bill’ and ‘go to tip’ sign of a hedonistic lifestyle. Anyway I decided they would make some cheap canvas look a bit more interesting and then as I painted a seascape appeared.
Home
Drawing, SketchesDrew this last night whilst relaxing on the sofa, it’s that time of year when the hibernation urge sets in!
