There have been a few babies and baby announcements lately. Our baby is off to big school in September so also reminiscing about those early days, while being grateful that we get more sleep now!

Poolbeg chimneys.

Found an old stencil print from my Dublin days. If you know Dublin you will know the Poolbeg chimneys like two stripey lollipops on the Dublin skyline.

Mark making

Rise Art did a sound and vision session on Zoom this evening which includes talks from artists and their playlists, we then responded to the work whilst listening to the music. It worked really well and I say this as someone who is completely jaded by Zoom calls. Here is one of  my efforts done on my phone, whilst listening to the call on the tablet, whilst putting my daughter to bed, and drinking gin and tonic. I did turn off my camera and mic!

Wind Turbines

A lot of people don’t like wind turbines but I do. I like seeing them out there on the horizon slightly turning and making clean energy.

At Home

During lockdown I started to look at my home differently and really look at it in a way I hadn’t really begore. I also noticed spaces and books where I tend to linger and daydream whilst drinking a coffee, like by the washing machine!

Sunny Days.

The weather has been lovely, sunshine for days in a row and with lockdown easing people are able to enjoy the parks and beaches again, (while keeping their distance). I’ve also been out on my bike for the first time in years packing my sketchbook and exploring the area a bit more.

Willow Pattern

I’ve always loved the Willow Pattern I think it comes from finding bits of the blue and white China in the garden as a child. I was convinced if I collected all the bits I would be able to make a whole plate. Every garden seems to have fragments of these plates in I never really understood why! These drawings were done in combination with the lyrics from a Mary Coughlan song ‘like the wind takes a leaf from a tree, time will take your love from me’.
